Keep your records out of the report. Never include photos or scans of real documents, or details from your records such as names, document numbers, dates of birth or addresses. Do not send recovery keys, backup passphrases, backup files or .showpapers collections. Describe the problem in general terms, or repeat it with made-up sample papers.
Use the template
Answer what you can. A short report still helps. Email Report opens your email app with the template filled in, ready for your answers.
ShowPapers filled in its version and your phone’s operating system version. They were added on your phone and reach us only if you send the report.
What happened: Steps that lead to it: 1. 2. 3. What you expected: What happened instead: How often (every time, sometimes, once): App version: Platform and OS version: Phone model: Screenshots attached (yes or no):
Find your app version
In ShowPapers, open Settings. The version appears under About ShowPapers. Report a Problem in the same section opens this page with the version and operating system already filled in. On Android, the phone model is under Settings, About Phone. On iPhone, it is under Settings, General, About.
Screenshots
A screenshot of the screen where the problem appears often helps. Before you attach one, check that it shows only made-up sample papers, or crop or cover anything personal. If a problem happens only with a real document, describe the document instead, for example “a two-page PDF saved from a scanner app,” and do not attach it.
